Lessons Learned in 2014

Every year around this time of the year, I take some time to think through the year and the lessons I've learned throughout that year.  Here's my list of 2014 lessons:

Live to the Fullest
1) If you have a vision and a dream to do something meaningful with your life; don't ever give up on that vision but be ready to commit to the journey of seeing that dream to fruition. Visions don't come to fruition overnight.
2) Faithfulness is by far greater than perfection.
3) Don't underestimate the power of the daily step.  One step at a time, one day at a time.
4) Through seasons of doubt and confusion; just breathe and walk even if it is in the darkness.
5) Good rest is an essential part of surviving and succeeding.
6)  Be careful of dreaming publicly. It is oftentimes better to let others see you walk than to announce your every steps.
7) Waiting for approval from others will delay and hinder your progress and potential.
8) Relationship is the bridge to reconciliation and healing. Challenge yourself to sit and break bread with those you know the least.
9) And Grief continued to have its way; so I just let it.
10) Don't rush through any of the steps throughout the journey; surrender, cry, fight, accept, repeat...just let it be; it will not kill you, another season is on the horizon just hold on.
